2017 Best Ball All-Stars

Have you heard of Best Ball? If you’ve ever been anywhere near the DRAFT office you definitely have, because we talk about it here ALL. THE. TIME. Our Best Ball format is a season long fantasy game with no management where your best possible lineup is automatically generated at the end of the week. In short, it’s insanely fun because the strategy is different than anything else you’ve played, and the trash talking opportunities are generous to say the least.

In Best Ball, consistency and availability (aka not getting hurt) are key. You also need to look for home run hitters in late rounds that might win you a week or 2 with a particularly explosive performance. Let me tell you that nothing feels better than seeing your Best Ball picks have monster performances, especially when you maybe took some sh*t for drafting them in the first place. So without further ado, from the guy currently winning the office Best Ball league, your 2017 Best Ball All-Stars:

QB: Russell Wilson. Yes Tom Brady is likely MVP of the NFL, and yes he’s been as magnificent as ever, but Russell Wilson has been the better option this year for 2 reasons: his rushing ability and his ADP. Wilson was almost universally drafted after Tom, and his 482 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns put him well ahead in points. Wilson has also not missed a game.

WR: No surprise here, Antonio Brown has been flat out dominant once again this year. He hits massive home runs winning you weeks by himself, and his floor has been as consistent as ever. You couldn’t have taken AB too high.

WR: DeAndre Hopkins. Believe it not, Hopkins had a lot of haters going into this year. After a bit of a slow start Hopkins was as dominant as ever once Deshaun Watson and somehow managed to keep his production up after Watson went down. Hopkins wasn’t going nearly as high as AB and arguably was a better buy overall.

WR: The value buy of the year, Adam Thielen. Thielen has racked up targets and catches all year becoming a true #1 WR. While Thielen’s numbers are elite and good enough alone to get him on this list, his value is what really propelled him. Thielen was available in very late rounds and found a starting spot on most Best Ball teams weekly.

RB: Alvin Kamara, out of absolutely no where Alvin Kamara has become a dominant Best Ball running back. He was available in the last round of most drafts and after Adrian Peterson flamed out, Kamara was given his chance to shine. One of the all-time great rookies, his production and value make him the best RB this season.

RB: Another Saints running back? Mark Ingram has been tremendous in an offense we normally think of as high-flying. His floor has been excellent all year and Ingram was severely undervalued going into the season. No one expected the Saints to have such a dominant running game but here we are with Kamara and Ingram as our top 2 Best Ball backs. Honorable mention to the Leveon and Gurley but the disparity in ADP really separates these Saints RBs

TE: Tight End is tricky in all formats but there are few guys you can always rely on. This year we’re going with Travis Kelce, simply put, he scored the most points and played every game. No rocket science here, Kelce has had an outstanding season, breaking out even further. Had Gronk not body-slammed someone earning him a 1 game suspension, he could’ve maybe earned this spot.

FLEX: Another Chief here, Tyreek Hill. His ability to hit a home run is exactly what you want out of our flex. As we saw early in the season, and a little bit late, Hill can go to the house on any given play. His seemingly infinite ceiling got him on this list as 2017s best flex option.
